PARENTS OR GUARDIANS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ESCORTING THEIR CHILDREN INTO AND OUT OF UNITY PLACE. IF ANOTHER PERSON IS PICKING UP A CHILD, THE PARENT SHOULD SEND A WRITTEN NOTE TO THE TEACHER.  CHILDREN SHOULD ADDRESS THEIR TEACHERS BY "MR., MRS. OR MS." AND HIS OR HER LAST NAME.

TUITION PAYMENT: Payment is due the first day of each month;a late fee of $15 added on the 15th of each month. Please pick up payment envelopes to serve as reminders. Payment may be mailed or deposited in the payment box in the administrative offices. Your monthly payment is for 4 lessons of ½ hour per month (unless you make arrangements for longer lessons). Recitals count as a lesson. Some months you will receive a 5th lesson as a bonus if there is an “extra” Monday etc., in the month; this is offset by the holidays in December and for spring break. Monthly bills are not sent; you will receive an overdue invoice if payment is late.  There is a monthly reduction in tuition for more than one member of the family taking lessons at GSOA, or if a student takes more than one
class.

REGISTRATION FEES are non-refundable. One fee per year is good for any number of classes the student wishes to take at GSOA.

DROPPING CLASS: If you must drop a class, please give GSOA two weeks notice in writing (drop forms are available in the office) so your place may be filled. GSOA reserves the right to bill for two weeks if notice of dropping is not received. If you have a question about a bill, please call GSOA at 704-866-8882.

MISSING CLASS: If a teacher must miss a class, he/she will notify students as soon as possible and is responsible for making up the lesson. If a student misses a class, the teacher will make up the lesson at his/her discretion. Please let our teachers know as soon as possible if you must miss class. Teachers will only wait for 10 minutes for a late student if they have no other student following the late student.  If a student misses a group class, the teacher cannot make that class up.

HOLIDAYS: Gaston School of the Arts follows the public school calendar for major holidays. For other holidays such as Presidents’ Day, etc., please check with your teacher.

INCLEMENT WEATHER: GSOA is closed when driving conditions are bad. If the public schools are closed, please check with your teacher to see is he/she is teaching, as the weather is frequently better during the afternoon hours.
SUMMER CLASSES:  Summer individual lessons are paid on a per lesson basis, instead of a monthly basis to accomodate vacation schedules. Students must schedule the lessons and pay in advance, but may take fewer than the four usual lessons per month.

Please contact Nan Murphy, Director, if you have any further questions, at 704-866-8882.
