Mr. Todd Geer - Voice
| American tenor, Todd Geer, is an accomplished and versatile artist who is highly regarded for his well-defined characterizations and musical interpretations. This season Mr. Geer performs Turiddu and Canio in the double bill of Cavaleria Rusticana/Pagliacci with the Westfield (NJ) Symphony, Don Jose in Carmen with Bangkok Opera, Tamino in The Magic Flute in Ithaca, NY, as well as concert performances of Beethoven Nine, Bruckner Te Deum, Messiah and the Requiem masses of Mozart and Verdi. Highlights from recent seasons include the leading tenor roles in Aida, Rigoletto, La Traviata, Stiffelio, I Masnadieri, Cavaleria Rusticana, Pagliacci, La Farsa Amorosa (Zandonai), La Fanciulla del West , Manon Lescaut,, La Bohème, Madama Butterfly and Carmen. Mr. Geer has performed with San Francisco Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, San Diego Opera, Opera Carolina, Teatro Grattacielo, Teatro Lirico D’Europa, Bangkok Opera, Festival Musique de St. Barth’s, Festival of the Aegean and has appeared in concert in Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, L’Arena de Nimes, Aix-en Provence, Annecy and Syros, Greece.
Mr. Geer was awarded the prestigious Adler Fellowship with San Francisco Opera in 1999 where he performed as resident artist for two seasons. He made his San Francisco Opera debut as Don Gaspar in La Favorite, followed by a leading role debut as Rodolfo in La Bohème that same season. Subsequently, he has taken part in more than twenty productions with San Francisco Opera, both as a resident and guest artist. A native of Charlotte, NC, Todd Geer holds degrees from the Eastman School of Music and Binghamton University. After his academic training he continued his studies as a resident artist with Tri-Cities Opera where he sang much of his core repertoire for the first time under the tutelage of his teachers Peyton Hibbitt and the late Carmen Savoca. Mr. Geer resides in Charlotte, NC and is a member of the Voice faculty of Catawba College and serves as Resident Artist of Myers Park Baptist Church where he will give a recital of Beethoven and Vaughn-Williams May 16, 2011. This summer he joins the faculties of the Gaston School of the Arts and the Summer Youth Musical Theatre Workshop at Binghamton University.

Ms. LInda Suda -Voice
Linda Suda has performed a variety of operatic and music theatre roles with companies on the east coast as well as in the west. A native of Pennsylvania, Ms. Suda graduated from Seton Hill College and pursued graduate studies at the University of Missouri and Peabody Conservatory. While a student at Peabody, Ms. Suda was chosen, through process of audition, as an Artist Diploma candidate. She was a national winner in the American Opera Awards, a Metropolitan Opera regional finalist and a finalist with the Center for Contemporary Opera. Ms. Suda has received critical acclaim for her oratorio roles including the Angel in LAUD TO THE NATIVITY, and soprano soloist in the ELIJAH, BACH CANTATA #51, and the Rutter REQUIEM. She has performed as a soloist with the Four Corners Opera, Light Opera of Manhattan, Baltimore Opera Company, and Opera Theatre of St. Louis among others. Ms. Suda's appearances with other organizations include soloist with the Northwest Chamber Orchestra, Tacoma Opera, and the Pacific Northwest Ballet. One of her most recent appearances was as soprano soloist with the Earshot Jazz Duke Ellington Sacred Concerts. Linda was co-founder and general director of Oklahoma Civic Opera in Oklahoma City and as an Oklahoma State Arts Council Artist in Residence Linda directed and performed the role of the Queen of the Night in that company’s first production, THE MAGIC FLUTE. Linda is a past Artist in Residence in New York, Oklahoma, and was a rostered artist with the Washington State Arts Commission and the ESD in Mt. Vernon. She is a former instructor of music and drama at Archbishop Murphy High School in Everett (formerly Holy Cross High School) and served as director and choreographer for all music theatre productions. Linda held the position of Arts Director at Cannon School and is currently a music studies lecturer and adjunct professor at UNC Charlotte. She has been chosen to direct the opera scenes at Davidson College for the Department of Music this coming fall. | |
