Instructor: Fred Hasenzahl
You love to be creative and make art! You may have ideas that come to you and want to express what they mean to you by making art that says what you want to say. And you may at times find yourself not knowing how to make that happen. Drawing in art is the beginning of developing and ultimately expressing your ideas. Drawing is fundamental in the skills that you will need in painting, illustrating, and sculpture in addition to designing graphics, architecture, engineering, concepts for films, comic books, jewelry and crafts, fashion, furniture and the list goes on and on.
In this class you will learn to unleash your creativity by learning the necessary skills that even the most famous and professional artists and designers have learned and used in their art. You will learn not only about materials and techniques in drawing but developing your perceptual abilities as well as how to draw accurately in perspective, proportion, form and volume, line and shape, composition, rendering and shading, and design. This class will be fun, challenging and help you jump ahead in your skills as an artist. You will have a chance to learn with other students and experience the creative energy in the room! I will work with you at whatever level you are and whatever your goal may be. This classis is available in the fall/spring semesters.
